Facilitating the Search for Truth in New Orleans – Mobilization

When I heard about Chartreuse’s quest and commitment to find the truth in post-Katrina New Orleans, I thought this was an excellent opportunity put the power of true citizen journalism further into action. This is new media in its finest element. Know More Media (the company I work for) has committed various resources to support this effort – including this blog – and it has been a whirlwind process, made possible through the power of new media.

In a mere ten days, the following has been accomplished:

  • Chartreuse announced the intention of the trip
  • Know More Media, the Blog Herald, and the Blogging Times joined the effort in support
  • Chartreuse found and chose the members of the main Team New Orleans to be sent
  • the funds for the trip were secured, and all travel and lodging arrangements nailed down – arriving Mon Aug 14
  • Know More Media created, designed, and launched NewOrleansTruth.com
  • Local New Orleans bloggers (NOLA bloggers) have been invited to join the blogging efforts on NewOrleansTruth
  • interviews with Team New Orleans were initiatedTNOinLA.jpg
  • part of our Know More Media team met with Chartreuse and Loren in Los Angeles (see photo)
  • a press release on the effort has been written and scheduled for release via PRWeb.com on Tue Aug 15, to bring wider exposure to the conditions in New Orleans

I understand that this blog is not the first of its kind to bring exposure to what’s really going on in New Orleans. Other great NOLA bloggers have been talking about it for months, to name just a few:

On NewOrleansTruth.com, we want to provide another forum where voices can reach out to the world and expose the truth. This blog is not the first on post-Katrina NOLA, nor is it the last, but it is another way of weighing in and hopefully making a difference.

Hi,

Nice post.. except it's The Blog Herald, not the Blogging Herald :)

Thanks
Matt

Whoops, sorry, Matt! I fixed it. Got the link right, but I guess I had "blogging" too much on my mind!

Here's an almost complete list of the NOLA Bloggers and friends focused on the Recovery (Scroll down a little):
